I have taken up a new hobby – singing through the hymn book. Not too long ago, this would have sounded about as exciting to me as watching paint dry. But the Lord has put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God, (Psalm 40:3) and now I can’t help but burst out singing praises to God. When God touches your life, you will never be the same and he will give you such a joy and excitement in Him, that you will find yourself doing crazy things – things that you never could have pictured yourself doing – things like singing through a hymnbook. It is my prayer that God would put a new song in your mouth and that you would delight yourself in the Lord, to the praise of his glory. Let me leave you with Psalm 149
Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise in the assembly of the godly!
Let Israel be glad in his Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King!
Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre!
For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with salvation.
Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands,
To execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples,
To bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron,
To execute on them the judgment written!
This is the honor for all his godly ones.
Praise the Lord!
